A key ingredient of meth production is pseudo ephedrine, which is a nasal decongestant found in cold and allergy medicine. Congress required pseudo ephedrine to be moved behind the counter and to be electronically tracked in 2006. It's not effective. The only effective solution is to make pseudo ephedrine a prescription drug.
