Energy source legislation should be enacted informing consumers where their energy comes from, specifically noting whether gasoline comes from tar sands oil, or natural gas is obtained through hydraulic fracturing. Americans should have the right to make informed purchases, so they can choose which practices they support.
Why is this important?
We should enact a law requiring the source of energy to be revealed to the consumer. As a consumer, I do not want to purchase gasoline that comes from tar sands oil or natural gas obtained through hydraulic fracturing. However, I do not know when I go to the pump for gas, or pay my monthly gas bill to heat my home, where this energy is coming from.
