We, the undersigned, are concerned citizens of Colorado who urge the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, the office of Governor John Hickenlooper, and the Erie Colorado Board of Trustees to immediately enforce current COGCC rule 604, requiring a minimum 1000 foot setback of the current Encana Oil project in Erie, Co from Urban Mitigation Areas. The rule also states that multiple-well drilling pads must be "as far as possible" from inhabited buildings. There is adequate land at each proposed multiple-well site to move the pads to the lawfully compliant distance.
Why is this important?
To protect the welfare and interests of the citizens of Erie, Colorado.
