Every California Worker Deserves Fair Scheduling
I want to urge you to support fair scheduling for all workers.
“Just-in-time” scheduling is all about profits, not people.
It lets managers use computer algorithms of real-time sales data to build work schedules, allowing employers to call in staff on a moment’s notice or cancel shifts if business tapers off. Meanwhile, it’s the workers who are left shortchanged.
Without protections, thousands of hourly wage workers and their families struggle to get by without predictable incomes or schedules.
All workers deserve a real opportunity to achieve economic security, and fair scheduling standards will go a long way in protecting workers.
California can be a leader on this important issue. Please pass Assembly Bill 357 now!

Why is this important?
“Just-in-time” scheduling, as it’s known, can wreak havoc on the lives of working people and their families. When shifts are scheduled with little advance notice and canceled at the last minute, it’s hard to imagine having any financial security. And when workers don’t have predictable schedules and are expected to work any time they’re called, it’s hard to make plans to take care of your family or find additional work, if necessary.
State lawmakers in California have introduced Assembly Bill 357, the "Fair Scheduling Act" and we need them to act now to protect all California workers.
