Resolved: that Iowa extend health care coverage through the new Medicaid provisions of the Affordable Care Act to those unable to pay for or secure health coverage.
Why is this important?
Iowa must particiate in the expanded Medicaid program to provide health care to poor Iowans unable to afford health insurance. We currently serve these people in hospital emergency rooms. This system is very costly,inefficient, and inhumane.
