Expanding Medicaid will provide Health Care for over a Million Texans.

Many of the over one million Texans with no health coverage pay Federal income taxes. Accepting the Federal funds to expand Medicaid would only be giving these people their own money to pay for the health care that would give them a better life. They deserve better than your callous resistance.

Why is this important?

Many members of my family and many of my friend's family members can not afford basic medical insurance plans. Texas' elected officials, especially governor Rick Perry and SenatorTed Cruz are denying over a million Texans (more individuals than any other State in the country) access to basic health care by refusing to accept Federal funds to expand Medicaid coverage for Texas. The health and welfare of their constituents should be a top priority; not their celebrity status with the extreme right wing of the Republican Party. I urge them to implement the Medicaid expansion immediately.
