Fact Checking

Whereas public opinion and voting is affected by statements made by public officials; all political statements made during election campaigns should be subjected to immediate disclaimers when they are proven to be untrue.

Why is this important?

Many politicians make public statements that have no basis in fact. Because many people believe that any public statements must be factual I feel that ALL public statements made during the course of political campaigns should be subject to fact checking, there should be immediate disclaimers made in the same media of statements that are not true.
