Reverse the 3 and 10 year bars of the law known as IIRAIRA that has decimated immigrant families on the alter of Rep. Lamar Smith's 'attrition' laws resulting in 11 million undocumented living in the shadows in our nation.
Reinstate the former portions of our immigration laws that permitted pardons for individuals previously deported and allowing judges to grant cancellation/suspension of deportation to close relatives of US citizens and residents upon the showing of only extreme hardship.
Why is this important?
Reverse the foolish notion that if you make living in the US hell for undocumented and overstays, that they will 'give up' and sacrifice what our Supreme Court deemed all that makes life worth living and return to counties without hope, futures or security.
