Fair across-the-board paycuts

It seems only fair that a Congress that enacts a shutdown of the entire government should share in the pain they have inflicted. I suggest that as long as this shutdown continues, congressional paychecks should also be stopped. The average government worker has no power to end this standoff. Perhaps if Congress had a little skin in the game, they might act to find a solution. The paycheck cutoff should reflect that of the average government worker who is furloughed.

Why is this important?

I have watched some powerful persons in Washington inflict pain on our general population while being untouched by their actions, i.e., while having wonderful health care themselves, they want to eradicate health care for the poor; while able to afford food for their families, they cut food assistance to the needy. Enough! Time for them to see how their actions affect others.
