fair hospital billing act

Hospitals are allowed to charge individuals without insurance only that amount they charge insurance companies for any procedures, or other expenses incurred during treatment at their facilities.

Why is this important?

Hospitals charge people without insurance one inflated price, while giving large discounts to insurance companies for the very same procedures.
If that person can't pay the hospital will come after them for the whole inflated price, not the discounted price.
I propose a bill saying hospitals cannot charge individuals any more for a procedure than they charge the insurance companies.o
