It is time for all citizens to earn fair wages. Especially in an economy where many are struggling, it is unfair to make servers and bartenders to depend solely on tips to pay their bills. It is unfair to label them second class citizens by paying them about half of the rest of the citizens around them. Tips should be viewed as a reward for exceptional service. It is very hard to plan out finances when your income is dependent on people tipping or not. Fair wages should be a right for all citizens, including waitstaff and bartenders.
Why is this important?
Raising the minimum wage for servers and bartenders from $3.63 an hour to that of the regular minimum wage.
