Federal Employees Deserve Paid Parental Leave
Dear Members of Congress,
We, the citizens of the state of Texas, petition the Congress to pass The Federal Employees Paid Parental Leave Act of 2013, that would provide federal employees with six weeks of paid parental leave. The United States is the only industrialized nation that does not mandate any form of paid leave. Moreover, over the past few years the "private sector" has taken the initiative by providing their employees paid leave. It is time the public sector follows its lead and promote the values of parenthood and family in America. I strongly support the passage of the Federal Employees Paid Parental Leave Act of 2013.

Why is this important?
Federal Employees Paid Parental Leave Act of 2013 - Allows federal employees to substitute any available paid leave for any leave without pay available for either the: (1) birth of a child, or (2) placement of a child with the employee for either adoption or foster care.
