Federal Legalization of Cannabis

Cannabis is a fibrous plant that can be used to make many things. Cannabis was first made illegal because of the competition with the paper industry would be massive. Cannabis is a renewable resource that can be used to make many things including construction materials like floors, paneling, rope and other manufactured items. The female cannabis plant is referred to as marijuana. This plant is not as dangerous as everything thinks. Alcohol is far more dangerous, yet is is legal to consume over the age of 21. People can die from drinking too much.

No one dies from consuming too much cannabis. Cannabis has medicinal purposes as well and like other "medicines", it should be regulated, controlled and taxed. Many forefathers of the U.S. Constitution owned farms that produced hemp. The revenue from taxation of marijuana products under the "luxury tax" would benefit the state as well as the federal government. Due to the economic crisis we experienced over the past four years, people are spending less, purchasing lower priced items and forcing the market to compete in order to maintain industry control.

This is a solution. This is something that would put away stupid, expensive, excessive spending on the banning of something that could be legal and taxed like tobacco and alcohol. No one dies from consuming too much cannabis.

The legalization of this plant would reduce the glamour of participating in an illegal activity; and as seen around the world in other countries where it has been legalized - statistics show that less people use the drug. Alcohol, tobacco, and cannabis are all derived from natural substances.

Ibuprofen and Tylenol are dangerous drugs that damage the renal system and liver. Narcotics are extremely addictive, and also causes physical dependency. Consumption of marijuana does not lead to addictive behavior or cause physical dependence. Some mental dependence can occur due to the help the medicine provide the patient.

People take NSAIDs to reduce inflammation. Studies show that cannabis treats inflammation, acts as a CNS depressant and relaxes the patient. Take a dangerous, synthetic drug, or eat a cookie with medicine in it?

I believe that this ignorant war on marijuana is expensive when it could be opening up the judicial system, spending cuts, government reduction and luxury taxation would improve the performance of state and federal government as well.

Lets make some money and lets get high. Tax it, sell it, grow it, eat it, use it for making construction materials, paper and other industry applications.

Why is this important?

Excessive spending on the prosecution of people who grow, consume, purchase or sell cannabis when it can be regulated, taxed and controlled. Alcohol is far more dangerous yet legal. Cannabis has applications within the construction resources and paper industries.
