We the citizens of the United States of America, due to recent events in the media involving police officers and instances of contradictory information contained in related police reports, believe that Congress or the President of U.S. (through executive action) should make it a felony to falsify information on police reports that alters the true nature of an incident(s), punishable by up to 5 years imprisonment. If loss of life is involved in the incident, the offense shall be punishable by up to 10 years imprisonment.
Why is this important?
Due to recent events in the media involving the police, which have the potential of slowly eroding the legitimacy of law enforcement.
