Feel The Pain: Zero Health Benefits for Federal Judges and Legislators
In an effort to responsibly reduce the federal budget deficit, we the people of the United States of America demand that all health care and related employment benefits for members of the federal judicial and legislative branches, including the Supreme Court and all members of the U.S. Congress and Senate, be immediately rescinded. All individuals affected by this petition will be given access to health insurance only through the individual health insurance market and will be enjoined from participating with any favored groups or classes in their acquisition of health insurance.
Why is this important?
Contingent upon the U.S. Supreme Court ruling against the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act, this petition would call for a national referendum on the repeal of health and other benefits for federal legislators (congressmen and senators) and the federal judiciary (all federal judges including Supreme Court justices. Among other effects, this initiative would require that all legislators and judges purchase health insurance on the significantly more expensive individual insurance market if they choose to remain insured.
