Are you required to carry FEMA flood insurance? In Hurricane Sandy, homeowners were defrauded by insurance companies working for FEMA, making their recovery from disaster almost impossible. Require FEMA to only contract with ethical companies. Don't make homeowners double victims.
Why is this important?
I am a homeowner in a flood zone. A flood in 1997 came to our neighborhood, and cost the area $40 million. Only pathetic corrective measures have made, AND a big El Nino event this winter may bring a worse flood. I want my very expensive insurance to work!
