Fight Back Against Anti-LGBTQ+ Legislation!
There have been more than 850+ anti-LGBTQ+ bills introduced by Republicans in state legislatures across the country already in 2025—and we’re only halfway through the year. These bills disproportionately target young people, especially trans youth. The far right is ramping up its attack on all of us by further marginalizing our communities in order to align themselves with the Trump administration and sow division among everyday Americans. We have to fight back.
We need state leaders to step up to protect residents against these blatantly discriminatory attacks and defend LGBTQ+ communities. Sign the petition to demand state governors do everything in their power to BLOCK anti-LGBTQ+ legislation from passing in their states.
Why is this important?
Attacks against LGBTQ+ communities have spiked in the last five years. In 2020, only 100 anti-LGBTQ+ laws were introduced in states across the country—today, it’s eight times that. Republicans are stoking homophobia—including intentionally spreading disinformation and misinformation—in order to instill fear and distract the general public while they cheat the American people and give tax breaks to their wealthy friends. But we refuse to be divided.
The majority of Americans support LGBTQ+ equal rights. Republicans are out of step with the American people and pushing a discriminatory agenda in order to enrich themselves.
State governors have a responsibility to represent everybody in their state and to protect LGBTQ+ residents from attacks that threaten their freedom and fundamental rights. Add your name to the petition to urge your governor to take action NOW!
