Everyone over 70 who continues to work should not have to claim Social Security as income on Federal and State Tax Returns.
Why is this important?
Many of us on social security are forced to continue working due to the economy and the loss of much of our retirement after 9/11. We have already paid the taxes on the social security we are drawing and continue to pay into social security while still working. People over 70 SHOULD NOT have to claim social security on Federal and State Tax returns!
