Fix Gun Control Now
In the name of victims of unecessary gun violence, I urge the Government of the United States to stop playing politics, take a stand against the NRA, and pass legislation, such as the Fix Gun Checks Act, along with other bills, to prevent incidents like Aurora from happening again. Our elected representatives shouldn't fear the loss of money being provided by an organization lobbyists, who don't represent the will of most Americans, including a large number of gun owners, but rather, in the words of Paul Helmke, "the interests of its firearm industry partners." We must pass the Fix Gun Checks Act, as well as other regulations to reduce gun violence in this country and prevent future tragedies, like Tuscon and Aurora, from happening.
Why is this important?
After the shootings in Tucson, AZ in 2011 and Aurora, CO on July 20, 2012, we need to stand up to the NRA and pass the Fix Gun Checks Act, along with other legislation, to ensure that massacres like this do not happen in our country again.
