Fix Medicaid Inequities

Don't cut Medicaid funds, fix the system. In NC, little, if anything is done about medicaid fraud. Additionally, there are inequities in the system, allowing those who need it less to get more. Handicapped children of divorce who receive child support, have that amount taken into consideration when they apply for SSDI. However, handicapped children in a two parent family, have no determination of how much funding comes from one or both parents. In addition to medicaid, they also easily qualify for SSDI - double dipping. If a child of divorce receives enough child support, they incur a monthly payback situation to medicaid. Fix the inequities in the system, and that would fix the rising cost of medicaid and SSDI.

Why is this important?

Handicapped children of divorce are punished twice.
