To: The Florida State House, The Florida State Senate, and Governor Ron DeSantis

Florida Responsible Recreational Cannabis Act

We the Undersigned believe in full cannabis and hemp legalization, beginning in Florida and eventually throughout the United States as a whole. We would urge both the Florida House of Representatives and the Florida Senate to open discourse that may lead to the adoption of a modified variant of the Washington State Initiative 502, creating a state regulated and taxed system which would reduce crime, increase productivity and (by doing so) encourage job growth in various industries, including agriculture and textile. It is time for the elected leaders to move past these archaic, stigmatic and backward attitudes to a naturally-occurring and growing plant that is not only less harmful than alcohol but is actually a medical, environmental and economic benefit. We can save the world.

Why is this important?

Although I am a noncriminal, law-abiding citizen, I am currently serving six months of the Misdemeanor Drug Court Prevention program, and although I have nothing but respect for the law and acknowledge that I have a debt to pay to society regardless of whether or not I agree with it, I can say that MDCP is the single largest waste of both our law enforcement/judicial resources and taxpayer dollars, and furthermore, given the scientific evidence that outweighs and disproves decades of government propaganda, I wish to enjoy my marijuana in the safety and comfort of my own home. I am calling on those who favor RESPONSIBLE recreational use of marijuana, through a state regulated, monitored and taxed agricultural production, distribution and retail system to sign this petition.
