Follow Our Plan
I support the East Rockville Neighborhood Plan.
The Mayor and City Council, Planning Commission and City Planning Department should immediately implement the recommendations of the plan to:
"Create a transition zone in the Southlawn/Redgate area to minimize negative impacts of industrial use on the surrounding residential neighborhoods"

Why is this important?
The East Rockville Neighborhood Plan was approved by the Mayor and City Council 10 years ago. For 10 years the recommendation to create a transition zone in the Southlawn/Redgate industrial area has been ignored. Had the city followed the plan immediately, the issue of the ezStorage facility would likely be nonexistent and our neighborhood identity as a "quiet, secure, residential neighborhood" would be preserved. Instead we have been engaged in a long fight with the City and the developer to protect our neighborhood.
It's time to follow the plan now.
