Soda pop, and other junk foods, contribute to obesity and other health problems. Food stamps were originally supposed to ensure that all of our citizens had access to good nutrition. Stop wasting our tax monies on junk and increased health care costs, by further restricting what can be purchased with food stamps.
Why is this important?
Time and again I have seen people buy cartloads of junk food with food stamps, yet we have an obesity crisis in this country. Why should the taxpayers contribute to this, when we could contribute to good nutrition instead, and maybe reduce health care costs as well?
