For a Constitutional amendment to be placed on the Florida ballot in 2014 requiring a "mandatory"...
The Constitutional amendment requires all state of Florida public officials, to pay for their drug tests, through a state certified drug testing lab, before seeking/or being appointed to public office, and submit to mandatory random drug testing in order to continue to maintainin access to state benefits. As, it is unfair for Florida taxpayers to subsidize drug addiction. This new law will encourage personal accountability and will help to prevent the misuse of tax dollars. Public officials who test positive for drugs would lose their benefits for a year. A second failed test would result in a three-year loss of state benefits. State officials who test positive a third time, are to be immediately removed from office, vacate their position, summerily determined to be “impeached”, and banned for life from serving in any public office in the state of Florida.
Why is this important?
Recently, the governor of the state of Florida signed into law, a program to address the drug problem in Florida, by requiring Floridians, on public assistance, to submit to mandatory drug testing, to remain eligible for benefits. This Constitutional amendment would require all state of Florida public officials, who hold, or are seeking/or to be appointed to a state or public office or cabinet position, to submit to the same mandatory random drug testing program in order to remain eligible for access to state benefits as well, includiing their employment.
