To Whom It May Concern:

It has come to our attention that there has been a possible change in personnel at the entrance gate of Harnwell College House. We are troubled that a long-term colleague and member of our community might be taken from us.

Lisa Barber has been working as an Allied Guard at Harnwell for many years. Students of the Penn community, and especially Harnwellians, have come to appreciate the diligence, warmth and competence with which Lisa executes her responsibilities. There is no doubt that Lisa is the consummate professional and an exceptional guard. Over the years, there have been few guards that have met Lisa’s level of performance and love her for the commitment she exemplifies to her job - to us. With Lisa, we feel safe.

We do not know the details for the personnel change. However, if some form of appeal, or any kind of additional support from our community will permit her to retain her post in Harnwell, we would whole-heartedly come to her aid, with her permission of course. We will do whatever it takes to keep her here to maintain the sense of security that she provides for our home.

Signatories of this letter will not only affirm Lisa’s strong record, but will also advocate that this same record is sufficient to give her further consideration to retain her post.
