Those that are to represent their constituents but really are out of touch with them, should not be given life long outlandish benefits. We, the people, don't have the ability to give ourselves raises nor a benefit package that last well after we are let go, fired or retired, for our self and family, so why should they! There should be some retribution when items don't get done in a timely fashion.
Why is this important?
Their benefits should be the same as any other state or federal employee and theirs terms be limited. Their raises should only reflect the economy and of those that hold the same degree; an average across the country. Maybe a new job description with accountibilty being measurable.
