Lives have been lost and infrastructure and property have been lost. The Union of Concerned Scientists agrees the fossil fuel industries knew in the 1970s that scientific models predicted climate change, yet the industries paid for propaganda to hide the truth. It is those industries that must pay for hurricane damages, not the taxpayers.
