Fourth of July fireworks should be a celebration not an intrusion into people's lives.

The Michigan Legislature passed and Governor Snyder signed the Fireworks Safety Act of 2011. The result has been a drastic increase in the amount of private fireworks displays all over the state of Michigan, often times starting weeks before the 4th of July. This is becoming a large problem for our veterans and pets. Please help repeal this law. Thank you.

Why is this important?

I am a professional dog trainer and I see the devastating anguish dogs with noise phobias have. I also own one of these dogs. With fireworks now being set off for weeks before the fourth of July and often times starting in the late afternoon and early evening these dogs suffer for hours each day and for days leading up to the holiday then for days afterwards with each firework that is set off.
