The last prisoners at Guantanamo must be released in 2014 when the last US soldiers leave Afghanistan and our war there is over. Under the Geneva Convention, we can no longer hold prisoners of war past the time that hostilities have ceased.
Why is this important?
The war against Afghanistan will have ended in 2014 when the last US soldiers pull out.
We will no longer be at war with Afghanistan, and it seems to me that we can no longer hold prisoners from that war, and under the Geneva Convention, they must be released.
