we need federal mandatory minimums for police officers, district attorney's and judges who collude to violate constitutional rights of citizens. for example, police brutality, covered up by false police reports and the subsequent sentencing of the brutalized; unwarranted murder of private citizens at the hands of the police officers; excessive sentencing that are obvious violations of the right to freedom of cruel and unusual punishment. its time to destroy the prison industrial complex and the slavery it perpetuates.
Why is this important?
historic examples of police brutality and the fact that anyone in america can fall victim to the unjust horrors of the prison industrial complex make changes to the status quo inevitable. these changes won't result from those people benefiting from the system but the victims. the time is now to advocate for freedom and not passively stand aside, indifferent, while many of our fellow americans are abused by unjust men who abuse authority we trusted in their hands.
