Full Disclosure on what Apps are spying from your electronic devices

Stop Facebook and Apple from promoting spy applications by collecting our data for unknown sources. Applications like Instagram, especially images and videos of our children, need our authority and full disclosure on where they are going. We must know how these devices and their applications work together in collecting data and for whom.

Why is this important?

My names is Francia McCormack Wilson and I have become aware that there are spy apps on the phone retrieving information about me during times I assume my phone is inactive.

This concerns me because for years I have shared images, video, stories and many other creations of my children. My daughters are only 3 and 7. Knowing that my daughters images are out there being stored and utilized by people I don't know frightens me. Also, the tracking devices on the phones are creating a safety hazard for my children now that unwanted predators can build a spy app to stalk our children, and even ourselves.
This technology allows companies like Instagram access to our camera phones and microphones or companies like Dropbox to upload all of our images to somewhere we never authorized.

I also have been aware that these apps have been working together with larger companies like Facebook and Apple to make sure that the devices stay on at all times, recording and feeding information to undisclosed sources and location. Facebook was able to have a very large information/content stream with the purchase of Instagram.

I've decided to take a stand. No more Facebook! Sites that encourage creative information are repackaging and selling that information. Someone else's talent actually does the creating. However, with these spy apps receiving support from companies like Apple or Facebook, an injustice is being served to the freelance writers and artists trying to make a living online.

There is a threat to the creative community because anyone who can create an app or anyone associated with extremely large social networks or phone systems can control your devices in a way you wouldn't believe.
Recording conversations, downloading images and movies from your device, reading your emails and taking good ideas for their own. Hackers without one iota of creativity for themselves have taken over our internet and our devices. We need to reclaim our content and our devices.

We also need to ask more questions and demand answers from Apple regarding it's device called Siri. Siri's technology sometimes mirrors an actual live chat with a customer service, similar to the Onsite service. Whether or not that is happening, we will have to wait for a response from Apple.

Since the Patriot Act was enacted, various government agencies have access to content. We should be concerned about our security, but these new laws are creating an unsafe and threatening space for the American people, especially our children. The government needs to divulge exactly what information are they allowing themselves to take from the devices.

Let us force these companies to answer to the Freedom of Information Act that demands these companies share how much information they are storing. My daughter Amelia is seven now and has been the center of hundreds of images taken on my iPhone, posted to Facebook or Instagram. Our teenage daughters, especially, need protection. How many images are out there and who has them?
