To: The United States House of Representatives and The United States Senate

Full Representation in Congress for DC Citizens

We demand that the citizens of the District of Columbia be represented in the United States Senate and in the House of Representatives, in accordance with their numbers, equally with all other Americans, either as citizens of Maryland, citizens of another state, or citizens of their own state.

We call upon Congress, the states, and the people of the United States to recognize and correct forthwith the gross injustice that the people of the District of Columbia have suffered and continue to suffer as second class citizens, and to speedily grant them full voting representation in the Congress of the United States.

Why is this important?

The people of the District of Columbia, who live in the capital city of the world’s greatest representative democracy, the United States of America, are entitled to the basic rights of free people everywhere, including
• The right to participate in their own governance as citizens of a Republic.
• The right to full and equal representation in the Congress of the United States as citizens of a Democracy.
