The Funding CA Schools Campaign will require special interest groups to match every dollar they spend on political campaigns or lobbying to the CA school system of their choice. For example, if X Lobby firms spends $10,000 on Jane's political campaign, then X Lobby firms must donate the same amount of money to a school district or a school system. If the money is donated to higher education system, then the allocation must only be used for student tuition.
Why is this important?
Funding CA School Campaign is about increasing revenue for K-12 through higher education. Millions of dollars are spent each election cycle on lobbying and political campaigns. Yet, there has been significant cuts to our education system because of the budget crisis. College tuition has continued to increase year after year making it harder for students to afford a college degree which is required to obtain a well paying job. Lets invest in our future.
