What will happend to the 70,000 people that are cut off of General Assistance as far as affordable housing. How will they pay rent and for basic necessities? Many of them have a disability, teporary or permenant.
Why is this important?
We are faced with yet another crisis, General Assistance Budget Cut, that has been imposed upon disadvantaged and poorer members of society, with little warning. We can no longer stand idly by and let our legislators make budget cuts that will have long term negative effects on our society. For this cause, we are making a statement through this petition to our legislative leaders in the State House, Senate and Governor –Tom Corbitt).
