Get Aspen Dental and Careington out of Maine!

Aspen Dental is a scam, a classic bait and switch and Careington is the bait. They dangle a carrot of seemingly affordable dental care, complete with $29 initial visits, only to sweep you up into a long-term, sometimes completely unwarranted, payment plan. (Care Credit) Careington's website lists fees that it says are firm quotes, but only once you signup do you realize there is a VERY limited selection of participating dentist's. You guessed it, only one, Aspen Dental. If you are lucky you have bad credit, otherwise after your initial visit you will be pitched an array of terrible financing options with APR's as high as 25.99%. If you don't qualify for any financing options, you will be pressured into making a down-payment towards your first visit. Then when you realize what a scam the fee schedule is and try to cancel and collect your down-payment, you hit a wall. The secretaries will take your call, and tell you everything you want to hear. But you won't get your money back unless you go into the office and start screaming. Why do we allow foreign-owned corporations to rob from those who most need the money and the care? It's true Aspen Dental is based in Syracuse, NY. However, Leonard Green and Partners, L.P., Aspen Dental's parent company filed in 1994 under filing type: foreign. GET THEM OUT OF MAINE, AND OUT OF YOUR STATE TOO.
