Get Islander Esports a dedicated computer lab on campus
Islander Esports absolutely needs a dedicated Computer Lab on campus. At this time, our teams play from their dorms which causes and exacerbates several issues such as: Low team morale, Dorm internet issues, the inability for Team Coaches to work in-person with all players, roommates interrupting important tournaments, ect.
Why is this important?
If Islander Esports had the ability of playing from a dedicated Computer Lab, the organization and its players would be even more successful than they already are.
Even with the current playing conditions, the Valorant team is the 3rd* best Collegiate team in the state above all other Texas A&M locations, the Overwatch Team is gearing up for the Overwatch League Qualifier, and the Smash Bros team places top 10 in every local tournament they play.
*Our team is the 3rd best Texas team in our division for CEA Spring 2023
Not only would it serve as a place to compete, but also as a content creation hub. Islander Esports is also gearing up to break into the Twitch, YouTube, and TikTok spheres by utilizing our years of experience in the tech world to create fun, interactive, high quality content.
This content space would allow us to accept members as Content Creators specifically, rather than just competitive Esports players that also are on social media. Creators working through the organization would still receive the perks, benefits, and opportunities from our Sponsors like the Esports teams do.
