Get MoveOn.org to caption, subtitle, or provide a transcript for every video they urge MoveOn.org...

Sign this petition if you feel that Deaf and hard of hearing people (including late-deafened people) require access to MoveOn.org videos, so that they, too, can participate in political action via social media. Each and every video that is posted online should be captioned, subtitled, or have a transcript included.

Why is this important?

There are at least a million Deaf or hard of hearing people in the United States. All of these people require captions, subtitles, or a transcript in order to understand any online video (digitally-recorded) content that is distributed. MoveOn.org therefore excludes a significant Deaf and hard of hearing population each and every time MoveOn.org posts a video without captions, subtitles, or a transcript. Deaf and hard of hearing activists (and there are many) are repeatedly excluded from understanding the content of videos, and therefore, cannot share them or participate in any form of political action involving social networking/sharing of videos. MoveOn.org can't claim to promote social justice while perpetuating injustice.
