Get rid of the filibuster
January offers the only occasion every two years to remove the filibuster in the US Senate by a simple majority. Get rid of this undemocratic practice which gives the minority full control of the Senate.
Why is this important?
In the next 4 years, any nomination by President Obama to the Supreme Court can be rejected by the filibuster of a couple of Senators.
Control of such decisions by a minority is anti-democratic and should be rejected. We ask the Senate to reject the filibuster as a legal maneuver in the rules of the Senate.
