Give Congress a dose of their own medicine.
Why are we paying for congress members' health coverage and lifestyles while they are wasting time and stripping the most needy of food stamps and human services and fighting the Affordable Care Act, already passed into law? They should lose their salaries during a shutdown and have to pay their own way for health insurance from now on, just as their constituents do.
Why is this important?
Because I am disgusted with the incompetence of our so-called Representatives. They are wasting our time and tax revenues by stalling and avoiding doing the work of the people while remaining comfortable, insured, fed and privileged. They are killing the greatness of America. My son, who is actually doing his job for the government every day, will be furloughed and he and his family will be deprived of his salary by a government shutdown and congress will not feel a thing. It is an outrage.
