If we want Congress to pass sensible gun laws, we must give them an incentive. Let's suspend the use of all metal detectors and guards at the entrances of the Senate and the House of Representatives until action is taken. Let the legislators in Washington be as vulnerable as the rest of us are in our work places and schools until they enact sensible federal gun laws that can help prevent mass shootings like the one at Sandy Hook Elementary.
