Give South Carolinians a LIVING WAGE!

Even though I am Retired, it doesn't prevent me from wanting to see the working citizens of my State earn an adequate wage for their Labor. A Wage that will pay their Rent, Feed their Families, afford them a decent education and provide them with, Oh, my Goodness, a dollar or two for recreational family activities! Until we achieve Wage equity with more progressive States, HOW can we compete for the FEW Jobs available? When we all do better, we ALL do better! HELP a working American in South Carolina!

Why is this important?

South Carolina, a "right to work" State, an oxymoronic phrase if there ever was one, when "right to work" means right to work for the least amount your Employer deigns to offer you. NO benefits, NO Vacation or Sick Time and NO advocacy if the Boss decides to Terminate you without cause. If anyone out there agrees with me, sign this Petition to call for our State Legislators to pass legislation to raise the minimum wage to $15.00 per hour! Why is it, State or Federal, they NEVER miss an opportunity to raise their OWN Wages and beneifts? If the minimim Wage had kept up with inflation, it would be over $20.00 per hour by now. The Economy would be BOOMING, and everyone would have a grin on his or her face. WHY don't they like smiling faces in this State anymore?
