Global Energy Petition
To our national leaders:
We, the undersigned, global citizens of the earth demand the adoption of renewable energy and energy efficiency targets, universal renewable energy access, and an end to all fossil fuel subsidies. The time has come to put us on the path to sustainability. As the world’s population increases, the demand for natural resources will only intensify. We cannot depend on fossil fuels to be the energy source of the future. Our reserves are not indefinite. For every year that we wait, for every hour that we stall our transition to the renewable energy economy, we set the planet on a course to an outcome that will be unalterable. Life as we know it will be changed forever unless we take the steps to arrest this descent now.
We call on you to accept the responsibility that is owed to the planet and its people.
Sincerely,
