Goucher Divest
We, the undersigned members of the Goucher community, call on the Goucher Board of Trustees to mandate:
A heightened level of investment transparency by changing our endowment portfolio from blind to open.
That the Office of the Controller immediately freezes and begins to dispose of, in an orderly and responsible fashion in no more than five years, all of the Colleges holdings in corporations which extract, produce, refine, transport, or sell fossil fuels.
That the Office of the Controller reinvests in Socially and Environmentally sustainable funds.
Why is this important?
We aim to join the movement to curb climate change through moving institutional investments from companies that support fossil fuel use and development to more sustainable options in an effort to uphold Goucher College's community principles to responsibility and sustainability.
