Government Conflict Of Interest Pledges

I was prompted by an article I read on the unemployment rates we have in our country to write about what might be causing the high rate as I see one of the main reasons. I am asking for people in great numbers to sign my petition who agree with me. Then as the signors of this petition we have to stand up and fight for it.

A friend told me when he reached 2 years on employment they took him off the rolls and stopped paying him. I know he has looked for work in all the time he was on the rolls and since. Is he the only one and is he no longer counted as “unemployed”? Are there others?

We should know government can not create private sector jobs. If we do not know that we are not really paying attention. So many of the real private sector job creators are big corporation (exec) Republican backers. Could one of the reasons they are refusing to create jobs, when so many of them can because many big corporations are doing well, be that they are supporting the GOP who wants and hopes Romney wins so all of a sudden millions of jobs are created if he does? Then they could say something like “look, it takes a Republican to create jobs”? I know small corporations create a huge amount of jobs when they can and need to. We should support them as they do.

Now for the reasons I believe we are in so much trouble concerning the economy and jobs. Think taxes primarily, although it may not be as you think, and there is more. Around 270 plus GOP in government, including Romney and Ryan, have signed the Norquist PLEDGE. If you know what that is you would know it is a 'no way out of doing what Norquist wants' PLEDGE. If a signor breaks the pledge that signor is “toast”, according to Norquist, and with the $billions Norquist has he can do it – ruin their careers and the signors know it. If you in elected government refuse to sign it Norquist will hurt you until you do. Obama and most Democrats have not signed the PLEDGE.

Norquist says – 'If they sign the pledge they get support, they get to govern, they win and I make it possible. If they do not sign the Pledge, or they violate it, they are toast'.

Listen to him say this in the interview in his words and do not just take it from my paraphrasing, even though it is pretty close to what Norquist actually says. http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=7419360 .

Norquist said he wanted to bring the tax structure and budget back to where it was at the beginning of the 20th Century. His words are “to the size that would fit in a bath tub”. That way unnecessary programs (according to him and the those with him) would starve out of existence. That is how they want to shrink government.

Programs such as Social Security and Medicare would die from lack of funding and no play on words intended but so would so many of the people depending on those programs. Norquist knows this so maybe that has been part of their, The Tea Party and the now GOP elected officials who have signed it, goal all along with the PLEDGE. We have inflation since the 1950s that wouldn't have been thought of in the early 20th century. You will find a few, very few, Democrats who have signed. According to the link there are 236 Representatives and 41 Senators for the total of 277 in our current Congress who have signed the PLEDGE. http://s3.amazonaws.com/atrfiles/files/files/072911-federalpledgesigners.pdf

Norquist is so good with diverting the onus of the consequences for non-compliance from himself onto the voters in this interview. Interview at http://www.cbsnews.com/video/watch/?id=7419360n .

“We The People” should fire all the signors of the Norquist PLEDGE at the polls or as soon as possible, make such threating-for-life-binding pledges against the law and replace the signors with whomever we want from both sides of the aisle but with those we might believe will have our best interests at heart. That is a tough job, I know, but we have to try. We must always make the candidates and the representatives more fearful of our votes than they are of such immoral and conflict-of-interest pledges and campaign donations. And all donors must be known so we might know who is trying to buy the loyalties of our government officials, elected and appointed.

This Norquist PLEDGE is a huge part of the real TP/GOP agenda, at least for the signors. It means never to vote in favor of a tax under any circumstances, and that also means once taxes go down, as with what George W Bush did, they cannot go back up. It can also mean no regulations on Corporations if they can get it and whatever else is wanted. I do not know anyone who wants tax increases but what if “current” circumstances show the need for tax increases now or in the future? Think about what was going on during the beginning of the 20th century and ask yourself 'would we be able to remain the great American nation with those kinds of b...

Why is this important?

When government officials engage and sign pledges that are in conflict of interest with the needs of the people we all lose with the exception of the owners, and perhaps the signors, of the pledge.
