Government for the people, by the people, of the people!!

We the people will never really know if our votes really count in a presidential election, until we get rid of the electoral college. You remember that fiasco in Florida which won Bush the election when we discovered later that Gore won the people's vote??? If we got rid of this part of the voting process, votes would be an accurate representation of what the people want. There is too much room for lobbyist to get to corrupt officials and have them use their electoral votes to vote for the candidate who best serves their agenda. Aside from that that the electoral officials could vote to suit their own purposes. By dismantling the electoral college we could finally elect our president as a true representation of the people's will, and finally have a government that is by the people, for the people, of the people!
