Governor Brown: Make Cleaner Air Oregon Work for the People
We are counting on you to make sure that the Cleaner Air Oregon process you created delivers new regulations which will:
1) Prioritize public health
2) Provide the most protection to the people most impacted by air pollution, which too often are communities of color and low-income Oregonians
3) Require polluters to pay for implementation
Oregonians deserve nothing less. We are counting on you.
Why is this important?
This petition is my way of fighting for my 2-year-old son's quality of life (he has reactive airway disease thanks to living in Portland) — and for the lives of every Oregonian suffering from health issues caused by preventable air pollution. The fact is, our air may look clean, but it isn't. And after our state lawmakers failed to act to reduce air pollution during the 2017 legislative session, the only chance we've got is to hold our Governor accountable for the Cleaner Air Oregon process. Industry has killed every other attempt we've made to add teeth to our state's air regulations. But I'm not giving up and I hope you won't, either!
