Governor Brown: Stop Nestlé's Water Grab

I urge you to stop Nestlé's water grab in the Columbia River Gorge. Our public water should not be given away for Nestlé's profit.

The company has a bad track record in communities from Maine to Michigan to California. This is public water, and our state should stop using public resources to find a way to make our water available for Nestlé's profit.

Nestlé has been pushing for this unpopular water bottling proposal for over five years, despite tens of thousands of Oregonians expressing their opposition to a state agency making public water available for Nestlé's profit.

Why is this important?

Nestlé has been pushing for a water bottling facility in the Columbia River Gorge for over five years now. Despite widespread opposition from tens of thousands of Oregonians, the proposal is still in the works.

The Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife recently submitted a water rights transfer application that would expedite Nestlé's water bottling scheme in the Gorge, and would throw out the public interest review. At the same time, Oregon is experiencing a drought, and it's more important than ever that we protect our water resources.

We NEED leadership from Gov. Brown. Sign this petition to send a message directly to Governor Brown to protect Oregon's water and keep Nestlé out!

Reasons for signing

  • NESTLE'S SHOULDN'T MAKE MONEY ON SOMETHING THAT BELONGS TO EVERYONE. NATURAL RESOURCES SHOULD NOT BE UP FOR GRABS. WAKE UP AND GET THE DOLLAR SIGNS OUT OF YOUR HEADS AND DO WHAT IS RIGHT FOR A CHANGE.
  • No Nestle. FREE OUR WATER.
  • The days when ALL WATER will be exceptionally valuable are not far off...We elected you to represent ALL Orgeonians, not just special interests...Please tell Nestle to go back across the pond and abuse their own people...The arrogant CEO of this company has said that "Water is not a human right", and he intends to profit from any and every human misery.
