Governor Perry & the Texas Legislature: Enact into the current 2-year budget a significant increase in funding for public primary and secondary schools.
Why is this important?
In the past two years, Texas has fallen from 41st to 47th in spending per student. This abysmal choice of budget priorities will hurt our future economy and standard of living. Instead of decreasing and/or underfunding public schools, as in the past, we need a significant increase to begin the process of catching up with the rest of the USA.
