To: The Pennsylvania State House, The Pennsylvania State Senate, and Governor Tom Wolf
Governor Wolf, Veto the Fiscal Code Bill
Governor Wolf,
The House is now considering the version of the Fiscal Code bill passed by the Senate. If Democratic environmental champions in the House don't prevail, the bill you receive for your signature will, among other things:
- abrogate DEP’s conventional oil and gas regulations under chapter 78, requiring them to re-start the conventional O&G regulatory process;
- transfer $12 million from the Alternative Energy Investment Act to provide grants to hospitals, businesses, economic development organizations, municipalities, counties, and school districts to expand access to natural gas infrastructure;
- prohibit the funding of the DEP’s Consumer Energy Program
Governor Wolf, those assaults on Pennsylvania's environment are unacceptable. We are calling on you to protect Pennsylvanians and our natural resources and veto HB 1327.

Why is this important?
The Fiscal Code bill is one of the bills that must be passed in order for the state's budget to be passed. It details procedural rules about how money can be spent, like who can sign checks, etc., so it's a prime target for pork and other political hijinks.
This time around, the Senate has passed a version of the bill that includes several environment killing measures. The bill is moving quickly and may be passed by the House at any time. Unless the few environmental champions in the House prevail at removing those measures, it is the version of the bill Governor Wolf will receive for his signature.
Please join us in telling Governor Wolf that he must veto HB 1327 for the sake of the environment.
