Gov't Officials must have their Benefits Revamped

Elected official must pay for their own healthcare and not have it subsidized by the american public. They must also pay into Social Security and not have that contribution end once they earn $250000. They should not be entitled to a full pension after one year of service, they should have to put in at least 2o years, just like the american public. If they can't pass laws/budget on time they forfeit their benefits.

Why is this important?

Elected Federal officials have access to quality healthcare at affordable prices or paid in full by the taxpayers. They also receive a full pension after serving only one term. Yet the american public works for 20 years for a pension that is not guaranteed by the Gov't and is at the sole discretion of the employers. Elected officials must pay into Social security, just like the american public, and not have that contribution stopped when they earn $250,000 or more. If they can't balance a budget, or pass laws in a timely fashion they should forfeit their benefits.
